Quality Control

STAB VIDA ships oligonucleotides only  after QC check for each one of them:

• Being a ISO 9001 certified company, STAB VIDA delivers only highly purified products to meet the individual needs of each oligonucleotide and modification.

 

• All oligos synthesized are analyzed by mass spectrometry. Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization-Time Of Flight (MALDI-TOF) mass spectrometry is used for  QC oligonucleotides up to 50 bases in length (~15,000 Daltons). Electrospray Ionization (ESI) mass spectrometry is used for longer oligonucleotides (up to ~150 bases in length). Before shipment all oligonucleotides are checked for  integrity and correctness.

 

Preserve the quality of your oligonucleotide: 

• Short-term storage of oligonucleotides at 4ºC is acceptable as long as this does not exceed a few days. After that, the DNA will adsorb onto the plastic of the tube and result in loss of mass and an artificial alteration of concentration.

 

• If using water for resuspension, be sure to use only nuclease-free, pH 7.0 water (HPLC-grade is preferable). DEPC water is very bad for oligonucleotides and water coming straight from a Millipore of other type of deionizing system can be acidic with pH’s as low as 5.0.
